Thursday 9 May “The Songrise” is an Open Mic hosted by Jay Bishoff, the creator of Peregian Originals, every second Thursday at The Presynct Venue & Bar in Nambour. Jay supports artists in a safe environment to showcase their original songs or to play songs that are dear to them. Come and join us for a cocktail or mocktail, or a nice cold beer and see what amazing talent we have here on the coast! Doors open at 6pm for Happy Hour and for artists to register. Free entry, live music starts at 7pm till approx 10:30pm. Under 18’s welcome if accompanied by their responsible guardian.

Saturday 11 May & Sunday 12 May GENERAL DESCRIPTION The EmbodyBirth two day foundational workshop taught by Maha Al Musa since 1997, is for anyone interested in harnessing the principles of sacred birth and bringing birth home to mothers and babies – their heart, hands, womb and knowing. The work covers 4 areas of interest that include birth philosophy, psychology, physiology and practice (the BellydanceBirth). BellydanceBirth is just one component of these wise conscious teachings – it is essentially the dance of the womb- organic, intuitive, feminine, grounded dance for pregnancy and birth that incorporates the BellydanceBirth (or mindful meditative movement) as a conduit for accessing womb birth inherent knowledge. It is not the Western brand of “bellydance” per se so we encourage women who attend to let go of the idea they have of bellydance through a Western lens and lean into the cultural roots of the dance, of womens wise ways and birth instincts. We do not learn choreography nor steps but rather tap into the sacred childbirth body to reclaim our own voices with our babies so that we have the opportunity to re remember our own sovereign  language. Inspired by the early jazz and blues greats and with a love of the passion in gospel and blues music, “A gifted vocalist of sultriness and style who plays off the band sharing a common joy of improvisation”. Each month, Robyn brings to us a night of magical jazz featuring memorable jazz musicians from her cohort.

Friday 24 May The Remains of Mr Thompson are up and rolling for 2024 and will be bringing their ambitious live set to The Presynct in Nambour, check out their live BDJ session on youtube from late 2023 to get an idea of will be blasting out the speakers. Joining them will be festival heavyweights and Sunshine Coasts favourite earth rock band ‘Flaskas’ who always get the place jumping. ‘Beaudi Dwan’, accompanied by his full band and fresh of his debut single ‘Frames” streaming 45,000+ streams on spotify alone, will be bringing his unique take on indie acoustic rock and Americana. Finally new local band “The Jandals’ will be opening the night with some stomping blues rock.
