Workshop: Pocket Books
Sunday 13 October: 9.00am – 12.00pm
Pocket Books with Suzie Haddock
There are few things more satisfying than creating your own book, and particularly one where you can keep memories and other keepsakes. In this mini bookmaking workshop, you can discover how to create a unique handmade book with its own cover.
Books with pockets contain mysteries that are hidden inside. The keepsakes can be slid into the pocket book so that you can view them at will. Alternatively, you may want to punch holes in the keepsakes and at the top of each book page tie a ribbon to hold them in place. It can be so satisfying to take a simple sheet of paper and turn it into something as substantial as an artist book.
No glue or stitching is required. The design is made easily using simple folding techniques that we will practise first before making our finished take home piece of book art. Each participant will receive a sheet of instructions to make it easy to repeat the process at home where you can experiment at your leisure.
