Council’s annual NAIDOC Flag Raising Ceremony brings our community together on Kabi Kabi Country, Namba, for a morning of culture, connection and celebration!
The program will include speeches, performances and activities celebrating this year’s theme ‘50 Years of Deadly’.

About the theme:
50 Years of Deadly marks a milestone. It’s a tribute to the people who built this movement. the Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.
NAIDOC has always been more than a week – it’s a platform, a protest, a celebration, and a statement of survival.
Sunshine Coast Council acknowledges the Kabi Kabi Peoples and Jinibara Peoples, the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters we all now share. We value and embrace their enduring connection to Country and rich cultural heritage as a core part of our regional identity.
