Kim Yang – ‘Turn On The Lights’ Album Tour

Thursday 11 June After three years travelling and performing overseas, Taiwanese-Australian indie-folk songstress Kim Yang is back in Australia to tour her debut studio album ‘Turn On The Lights’ (開燈) Produced by Louis Montgomery (SAFIA, Peking Duk, Lucy Sugarman, Cathy Diver) and mastered by Joseph Cárra (The Teskey Brothers, Courtney Barnett, Hiatus Kaiyote) ‘Turn On The Lights’ is a collection of bilingual songs that explore Kim’s thoughts on identity, purpose, fear and anxiety. The essence of the album is Kim’s journey from self-doubt, to self-discovery, to self-acceptance. The full album release follows the launch of the first two singles off the album ‘All Good When I’m With You’ and ‘Forever this way’, Kim’s biggest releases to date. Since 2019 Kim has been a regular on the Australian music scene, releasing two EPs and earning nominations for national awards. She is a staple on the festival scene (Woodford Folk Festival, National Folk Festival, Sydney Folk Festival, CresFest, UK's Cambridge Folk Festival, Taiwan and Canada's Jade Music Fest) and has supported some of Australia’s biggest acts including Kate Ceberano, Katie Noonan, Ben Lee and Josh Pyke. Testimonial: Kim Yang is an artist with international quality, her music is just absolutely stunning - ABC Canberra Kim's voice is a little smoky, a little sweet - perhaps reminiscent of the great Tracy Chapman. - Double J Yang is an artist who creates deceptively simple music that has instant appeal, but will reveal deeper meanings and a more intriguing soundscape the more you listen - Woman in Pop 📅 Thursday 11th June ⏰ Doors 6:00pm (Happy Hour) | Event Doors from 7:00pm 🎟 GA Seated $25+BF | GA Standing $20+BF | Door $30 🔞 18+ Event 🩴 NOThongs Permitted 🚱 NOOutside Drink bottles
