Distorted Image – Party Where People Dance!

Saturday 28 August The origin of the Distorted Image Party comes from the story of an adult who refused to believe that a nightclub culture doesn't exist in the Sunshine Coast. This man had a history of connecting to nightclub culture in many parts of the world over 20 years being a DJ Superfan and a DJ himself. He understood the importance of a space where community can connect and benefit from inclusive music that turns the world into a harmonious environment. The man wanted to find a place where he could dance, laugh, socialise and listen to music that would reinvigorate his soul with like-minded adults who had not forgotten how to have fun. The story goes that the man searched high and low throughout the different cliques in the sunshine coast attempting to find his mecca. We didn't find the party that the man envisioned...we created it!!! Come join us at the wonderful Blackbox Theatre in Nambour as we showcase some amazing underground talent from the DJ scene in the sunshine coast featuring some unheard genres from the usual diaspora. DJs are a dime a dozen these days, HOWEVER real veteran DJs of the genres they represent are rarified and we only feature DJs who could write an essay on the underground rave culture. DJ's Hand Selected - Magnifique, DJ Bad Habit, Noosa Sound System, Michaelangelo, Indillectual, Jordxy Get ready to hear some Groovy Funky House, Breakbeat from the 2000s, Afro House, Minimal Techno, Funk Soul on Vinyl, Classic House, Proto Rock Expect the venue to be decked out with some incredible art from Letgo (Nick) our local Nambourian Artist who has been instrumental in uncovering the Nambour street art scene in the past 5 years. We've got some massive plans to rock the venue with high fidelity sound and dark emotive production lights to keep us on the right track throughout the night! Bar supported by the Not-for-Profit Ambulance station and all proceeds will be going to charity. We will be offering something special to keep you all dancing on the night. Tickets are on sale NOW!!
