Thursday 22 January Australia's premier Heavy Stoner Fuzz Blues exports CHILD return to Queensland for a run of shows before they head back to Europe for festival season in 2026. With thier 4th record fittingly titled "Rebirth" on the way you can expect some new material to be on show. The cherry on top is the first bunch of shows with a 'gun' new drummer. By consistently touring nationally and internationally, CHILD has become a fixture of the global stoner and heavy rock scenes playing mammoth events such as Freak Valley Festival, Heavy Psych Sounds Fest and Desertfest whilst also supporting the likes of Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats(ENG), King Buffalo (USA), Radio Moscow (USA), Valley of the Sun (USA), Deville (SWE), 1000mods (GRE) and many more. Sunday 25 January THE PRAGUE CONNECTION A thrilling new international jazz quartet, The Prague Connection, will tour Australia in January 2026, uniting four acclaimed artists from across the globe in a powerful celebration of collaboration, chemistry and the timeless spirit of jazz. At the heart of the ensemble is Libor Šmoldas, one of Europe’s leading jazz guitarists, praised for his “smooth, effortless and melodic approach” and “apparent love of jazz and his audience.” Šmoldas has performed and recorded with global icons including James Morrison, Bobby Watson, George Mraz, Jeff Ballard and Adam Nussbaum, and appears regularly at world-renowned venues such as Ronnie Scott’s (London), Smalls (New York), and the Melbourne Recital Centre. Joining him is Ingrid James, award-winning Australian jazz vocalist celebrated for her “rich timbre, impeccable phrasing,” and “tangible emotional connection.” Her international credits include performances with orchestras and appearances at major European jazz venues from London to Prague. Completing the line-up are Dr. Darren Heinrich, Sydney-based organist and educator, holder of Australia’s first PhD in Jazz Organ Improvisation, and Dave Sanders, one of the country’s most versatile drummers and educators, known for his rhythmic depth and stylistic versatility. Their tour program showcases music from Heinrich’s latest release Riddle Diddle: The Prague Sessions and James & Šmoldas’ album Midnight Sun — fresh interpretations of jazz standards and originals that span swing, soul-jazz, and Brazilian influences. Expect a colourful sonic palette, sparkling arrangements, and expressive interplay from four artists at the peak of their artistry. As Jazzport.cz described Midnight Sun:

Sunday 25 January Amalgamation is the coming together of Frisson Records and the Wizards of Kingston. This collaboration party will showcase some wicked DJ's and artists. Your headliner is Haptic ( the Shaman Monster ) and he will be taking you on a ritualistic journey through 90 mins of some otherworldly freshly created progressive and psychedelic techno, most of it has yet to be heard by humans ears. He will be supported by a a bunch of weapons who really know how to get a dance floor heaving, like Coco Brown, Von Barron, Zendex, Soulmind, Effin See and of course the Wizards of Kingston themselves. Its the Australia Day long weekend too, with Monday being a public holiday so lets make this a Sunday sesh to remember . Sunshine Coast Rainbow Choir Term 1 2026

Tuesday 27 January Peace Run Records and Agency is proud to present the Sunshine Coast Rainbow Choir at The Presynct in 2026! Meeting every Tuesday from 27th January to 31st March, Sunshine Coast Rainbow Choir is curated by Andrea Kirwin and Angela Newcomb. A safe and inclusive place for all people from all walks of life, the choir sings songs by LGBTQIA+ artists, Club bangers as well as requested songs. Previously the Choir has learnt songs by Chappel Roan, LP, George Michael, Elton John, The Beatles, Des'ree, Whitney Houston and more. Rehearsals run from 6.30pm - 7.45pm with socialising meet up from 6pm (snacks provided). Rehearsals are paid by the term at $20/session (or $200 for the 10 week term). Casual drop in rehearsals are $25 (paid at the door), but coming regularly is preferable so you can learn the songs as we do get offered the occasional gig/Festival! You'll receive a lyric booklet with 10 songs and the choir will choose which songs to learn and then perform on our 10th week as an end of term 'open rehearsal' where we invite our family and friends to come along, dress up and have our own VIP Choir party with delicious snacks! Theme is sparkly and colourful! This choir is a relaxed social singalong with breathing and singing techniques taught each week. The goal is to strengthen our friendship connections through singing and meeting regularly. If you've been looking for a fun weekly social gathering, our Choir could be for you! No singing experience necessary, just an enthusiasm to have a go. Also, you don't have to be a LGBTQIA+ community member to join, allies are welcome! Theatre Collective 2026 Open Day! On Saturday, 31 January, we are opening our doors to the community for a free, heartfelt morning of theatre, movement, and togetherness. Whether you’re a curious beginner, a seasoned performer, or a parent looking for something inspiring for your children, this is your chance to experience the "D.I.V.E. style" firsthand. Throughout the morning, we will offer a series of free taster sessions that provide a glimpse into our upcoming 2026 workshop season. You’ll get a gentle feel for the rhythmic flow of Dancing with Words, the grounded power of The Art of Presence, and the transformative energy of Theatre of the Oppressed. For the younger creatives (and the young at heart), we will also feature a high-energy taster of our School Holiday Theatre Program, showcasing the playful improvisation and collaborative storytelling that makes our youth intensives so special. Our Open Day is designed for everyone—adults and young people alike. It’s not about "getting it right"; it’s about play, presence, and finding your creative home. Peace Run Records invites you to join Australian/Fijian singer-songwriter Andrea Kirwin for a songwriting workshop on Saturday 31 Jan where you can learn how to create music and lyrics that reflect your own individual creativity and bring out your inner songwriter. Andrea's had 20 years experience releasing independent albums and performing on the Australian Folk Festival circuit and curating events. The workshop will be for 16+ years of age and will start at 10am and finish at 2pm. Venue is Homegrown Cafe in Palmwoods. Read on below to find out more about this Songwriting workshop with Andrea. Some of the skills you will learn; To discover your authentic writing voice How to create interesting music compositions through use of rhythms and different voicings. How to tell a compelling story using lyrics that evoke emotion How to create momentum and flow through verses and choruses that build How to write catchy hooks and weave them into your song How to use performance techniques to enhance a song Andrea will also be sharing a lot of her own tips and tricks she's learnt throughout her 20 year career. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced writers and there will be some creative writing exercises available as well as the option to workshop a song or poem you've already written in the second half of the workshop. Please bring a book and writing tools and an instrument if you play a guitar or ukulele. However, prior musical experience is not essential to enjoying this creative workshop.
